We Are... |

Boys and girls everywhere are anxiously awaiting summer. With
the season comes weeks of inexpensive vacation fun at Hartford
County 4-H Camp located in Marlborough, Connecticut.
The Hartford County 4-H Camp, Inc. is a non-profit organization
that provides a fun, safe, healthy, and enriching outdoor experience
for young people within a "Learning by Doing" philosophy. Through
4-H principles we endeavor to foster personal growth, in an
atmosphere of stewardship for individual, community and the
Earth. |
| Our Facilities... |

The camp is situated on 100 acres and includes the following
facilities: Baldwin Hall- which includes a dining hall that can seat
266 and a lower recreation and workshop area; 10 girls' and 6 boys'
cabins with each section containing a lavatory with sinks, flush
toilets, and showers; a camp director's cabin; horse barns for 48
horses plus a staff horse shelter; 4 riding rings; and Grant House,
a combined staff, infirmary, cook's quarters, and nature center. The
caretaker's residence is at the entrance to the 4-H camp.
The camp is adjacent to the Salmon River State Forest giving
campers many trails for hiking, nature observation, and trail
riding. A one acre pond provides for swimming, skin diving, boating
and water recreation. A tennis/basketball court combo, volleyball
court, and baseball/soccer field are for instructional and leisure
time usage. |
| Our Activities and Staff... |

Interest groups, Evening Camp Fires, a Cookout, Hiking,
Tournaments, Camp Recreation, and a variety of Evening Programs will
fulfill every camper's expectations for a most enjoyable week away
from home. Full camp includes 150 campers, 24 teen counselors, plus
a summer staff of 25 adults-made up of both local and international
personalities. |

Youngsters ages 9 through 14 may attend. We also have program
for Mini Campers - age 7 and 8. Aplications should be mailed
immediately, and will be accepted as received. 4-H Camp is provided
on a non-discriminatory basis and as such is open to all without
regard to race, color, age, national origin, sex, religion and
disability.
Note: Due to demand, no camper will be accepted for more than
2 weeks, per season.
